About Anastasia Van Batenburg

I'm Anastasia Van Batenburg, a graduate student at the University of Southern California, earning my master's in journalism at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

I grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Loyola Marymount University, where I got my start reporting and editing. Since then I've worked as an editorial intern and contributed to publications including Los Angeles Magazine and Annenberg Media (USC's student news outlet).

Covering stories from the newsroom side taught me what makes a pitch land, a headline work, and a story travel. I'm seeking spring 2027 internships in journalism, PR, and communications in Los Angeles or remote, with the goal of building my career in New York City after graduation.

When I'm not reporting or pitching, I'm exploring the arts scene of LA through the various museums, galleries, concerts, and live performances available in this vibrant city.
